Year 1

By the end of the first year of training, students are required to submit a reflective essay focused on their personal development, self-awareness process, and experiences throughout the first year of psychotherapy training. The essay should demonstrate the student’s capacity for reflection, integration of personal and theoretical learning, and understanding of the relationship between personal development and professional formation as a future psychotherapist. In addition, students must submit two academic essays of approximately 3,500 words each, selecting their subjects from the official list of essay topics corresponding to Year 1 of training.

Year 2

During the second year of training, students are required to submit two academic essays of approximately 3,500 words each, based on topics selected from the official Year 2 essay list.

The essays should demonstrate increasing theoretical understanding, integrative thinking, and the ability to connect psychotherapeutic concepts with clinical, developmental, relational, and reflective perspectives.

Year 3

By the end of the third year of training, students must submit two academic essays of approximately 3,500 words each, selecting their subjects from the official list of Year 3 essay topics.

Additionally, students are required to complete a dissertation paper of at least 10,000 words (excluding bibliography and appendices) on a theoretical or clinical topic of their choice, relevant to integrative psychotherapy.

The dissertation should demonstrate: depth of theoretical understanding; critical analysis; integration of psychotherapeutic concepts; academic research skills; coherent argumentation and professional writing.

Students are encouraged to choose focused and clearly defined subjects. Broad topics such as “Anxiety” are considered too general, whereas more specific and analytically focused themes such as “Performance Anxiety in Pre-School Children in Europe” are more appropriate.

All references must be cited according to APA style guidelines.

Year 4

Students enrolled in the fourth year of training are required to submit two academic essays of approximately 3,500 words each, selecting their subjects from the official Year 4 essay topics list.

At this stage of training, essays are expected to demonstrate increasing levels of clinical integration, professional identity development, and the ability to formulate complex psychotherapeutic perspectives grounded in theory, relational understanding, and clinical reflection.

Year 5

By the end of the fifth and final year of training, students are required to submit two academic essays of approximately 3,500 words each, based on topics selected from the official Year 5 essay list.

In addition, students must complete a final dissertation paper of at least 20,000 words (excluding bibliography and appendices) containing both a theoretical and a practical/clinical component.

The practical section should include one or more clinical case studies drawn from the student’s supervised psychotherapeutic practice and should demonstrate: integrative case formulation; clinical reasoning; treatment planning; psychotherapeutic interventions; reflective analysis of the therapeutic process.

Furthermore, students are required to submit 10 clinical protocols from supervised therapy cases, covering a minimum of 300 hours of psychotherapy practice.

All written work must follow APA referencing and academic writing standards.
